HOSPITALIST LOCUMS in MUSKOKA
Huntsville District Memorial Hospital in Muskoka requires Hospitalist Locums to support both Acute Care patients and ALC patients. It's also a great way to explore future long-term opportunities.
Huntsville District Memorial Hospital is a 48-bed hospital serving 20,000 local residents and 85,000 seasonal residents. Our tourist population is much larger in the summer when people take advantage of our lakes and rivers or visit the world-renowned Algonquin Provincial Park.
Acute care hospitalist (24hrs x 7 days)
Monday at 8am to following Monday
Caseload – average of 15-18 (can be higher if desired) attached and orphaned patients
Admissions – every 3rd patient (Mon-Fri); every other patient (Sat/Sun)
OR assist – every other patient or by negotiation with hospitalist partner (Sat/Sun only)
Remuneration: $650/day (Mon-Fri) + $750/day (Sat/Sun) = $4750/week + FFS
FIVE DAY ACUTE CARE HOSPITALIST SCHEDULE
Acute care hospitalist (24 hrs x 5 days)
Monday at 8am to Friday at 5pm (or when rounding is completed)
Caseload – average of 15-18 (can be higher if desired) attached and orphaned patients
Admissions – every 3rd patient
Renumeration: $650/day (Mon-Fri) = $3250 + FFS
FIVE DAY ALC HOSPITALIST SCHEDULE
ALC hospitalist (24 hrs x 5 days)
Monday at 8am to Friday at 5pm
Caseload – 15-20
No admissions – patients are transferred from acute to ALC in discussion with acute care hospitalists
Patients do not require daily visits - involves rounding typically at least once per patient per week
Managing acute issues and assisting with discharge plans
Patients can be transferred back to acute care hospitalist if they become acutely unwell
Remuneration: $250/d (Mon-Fri) = $1250/week + FFS - (good for semi-retired or vacationers who want to do some work while here); or combining with part-time office locum
